ROAD TRIP NAMIBIA - Pink Lakes, Deserts and FLAMINGOES in Walvis Bay

Welcome to Namibia! And welcome to part 2 of an incredible road trip through one of the least populated countries in the world. This country about 1,5 time the size of France mainly consists of desert landscape. In the previous episode we traveled along the coast of South Africa from Cape Town, to visit the first highlight of the country and the absolute number one sight: the Sossusvlei. In this episode we continue the drive through an otherworldly no man's land. Situated on the coast, just outside the extensive Namibia desert and surrounded by salt flats, is an industrial town called Walvis Bay. It's actually an African name, originally Dutch, named after the 'walvis', which means whale. We find out typical things about Namibia, head into nature, see pink lakes, salt flats and thousands of flamingoes. Up next will be Swakopmund, Cape Cross and Etosha National Park for safari. Our journey through Africa is part of a one and a half year trip around the world. We can even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia and the Philippines. Zanzibar and Tanzania are already destination number 21 on the big trip. We have also been away from home for a year.
